I didn't know there was minimum criteria for a stub article, and that having only one external link is criteria for "speedy deletion".

I will fix this in the next few days.

If you plan to do this soon-ish, you could add a {{editing}} tag to the top of the page and get rid of the {{db|...}} one. But you might find it gets deleted in the meantime - you can always recreate it once you've compiled your information. (Welcome to Wikipedia, by the way.)-Splash 01:13, Jun 22, 2005 (UTC)

Thanks. Hopefully it qualifies as a stub now. I dare not remove the db line since the warning says the article creator shouldn't. - Serge 01:25, 22 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Temp page created

[edit]

Sorry about the possible copyright infringment. Makes sense. I have a replacement "Temp" page ready to go. Thanks. -Serge 23:42, 22 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Inductee Categories

[edit]

The USBHOF web site is internally inconsistent between the Inductee List and Inductee Portfolio.

Should we standardize on the categories in Inductee Portfolio buttons?

  • BMX
  • Contributor
  • Off Road
  • Mountain Biking
  • Road & Track Pre-1945
  • Road & Track 1945-1975
  • Road & Track Post-1975

Or use "Modern" and "Veteran" as in the biographies?

Or the categories in the Inductee List table?

  • BMX
  • Contributor
  • Modern Road & Track
  • Modern Road & Track Competitor
  • Modern Road & Track Competitor (1945-1975)
  • Modern Road & Track Competitor (Post-1975)
  • Mountain Biking
  • Off-Road
  • Off-Road Competitor
  • Special Recognition
  • Veteran Road & Track Competitor
  • Veteran Road & Track Competitor (1970 & Prior)
  • Veteran Road & Track Competitor (Pre-1945)

I like the Portfolio list, but it needs Special Recognition to be complete.

The mapping from List categories would be (with individual exceptions as makes sense):

  • BMX -> BMX
  • Contributor -> Contributor
  • Modern Road & Track -> Road & Track Post-1975
  • Modern Road & Track Competitor -> Road & Track Post-1975
  • Modern Road & Track Competitor (1945-1975) -> Road & Track 1945-1975
  • Modern Road & Track Competitor (Post-1975) -> Road & Track Pre-1945
  • Mountain Biking -> Mountain Biking
  • Off-Road -> Off Road
  • Off-Road Competitor -> Off Road
  • Special Recognition -> Special Recognition
  • Veteran Road & Track Competitor -> Road & Track 1945-1975
  • Veteran Road & Track Competitor (1970 & Prior) -> Road & Track 1945-1975
  • Veteran Road & Track Competitor (Pre-1945) -> Road & Track Pre-1945 TimberFeller (talk) 00:53, 20 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
